Found a rather annoying bug (Sorry I can't report it via google projects, for some reason it hates my password.)

I've been working on a project on my laptop (Windows 7 64-bit 6gig AMD A4) in aseprite 9.2 (and 9.1 before that.) Now I took the .ase file and transfered over to my Desktop computer (Vista 32-bit 4gig 5200+) and tried to open the .ase with both 9.1 and 9.2, however when I locate the file in the file browser and click on it, then click open (or double click) It seams to think the .ase file is another folder and opens a folder with the name of the file example: C:/Desktop/sprite.ase/ obviously this folder doesn't exist and there is nothing in it.

Hi Cluly! I think that is an issue when you have selected "hide extensions for known file types" in the Window Explorer's folder options (this option is selected by default).

I've reported it some time ago: https://code.google.com/p/aseprite/issues/detail?id=44 but never check it again. I'll try to fix it for the next version.

A humble request.

Can we please get onion skin for forward frame and backward frame. It's pretty hard to do inbetweens with just 1.

A not so humble request is 5 to 6 frame onion skin going forward and backward.

Just a thought!

Thanks for working on this!

@m@ka: Well, currently you can do that :) But there is no UI available to configure it so it's a little annoying. Please see issue #110

Thank you for this great program!

Whether or not it's UI doesn't matter to me. I'm just glad it's possible :D I really need to take a look at the ini before I ask questions.

Thanks again David.

I've gone through so many of these programs and while there were so quite a few really good ones they all seemed to lack one core feature I needed. This seems to be the only one which has everything I actually need.

If it works on my touchscreen netbook you sir are getting a donation.

If it's not too much trouble I'd like to request layer support. I really like Aseprite, but it's missing layer support, which requires me to switch programs a lot and then importing back into Aseprite, so layer support would be much appreciated. :)

Hi Anonymous, that is no problem at all. Do you see the "Layer" menu at the menu bar? You can create layers with Shift+N, also you can move layers with the Animation Editor (Tab key, or "View > Animation Editor").

Thank you for this amazing application. I also tried Grafx2 and GraphicsGale Free, and ASEPRITE is by far the best pixel art/sprite animation app of the bunch. And it's free/open source!?! Awesome!

However, I prefer the default color palette of Grafx2 . Would I have to individually edit each of the 256 colors in ASEPRITE to get the same palette?

Thanks.

Hi Zach, thanks for your words!

About palettes, if you have a .png, .bmp, etc. file with the Grafx2 palette, you can load that palette. Just go to the Palette Editor (F4 key), press the "+" button at the top-right side of the window, and you will see a "Load" button to load a palette other file.

Is there currently a way to play only part of an animation? It would be cool if you could play say, frames 5-10 when pressing enter instead of playing 1-10. It may already be possible? (Love the program btw! It's great!)

@Auxiliumgames Hi! Great feature, I've added it in the issues tracker (issue #123). You can star the feature to keep track of the progress.

Thanks!

Just come across this program, I really like it!

It does some basic things that a lot of others don't like transparency and onion layers.

I've added a google code request for a new feature for the eye dropper to pick up alpha.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

@Passive: Thanks for your words and for the feature request!

Hello!

I've been wondering if you can provide an option to change the mouse behavior; specifically, use the right mouse button instead of Alt+LMB to pick a color.

I've seen this system in quite a few sprite/tilemap editors and I find it really useful.

I've posted it on the tracker (Issue #171).

Awesome program! Thanks!

BTW: Have you decided on the Scripting language to use?
